Clinton Hall and Martha’s Bakery May 20, 2019
Students and our Level 3 teacher David left NYEA shortly after noon and headed towards Fulton St. to catch the train via 14 St. Union Sq. and take the L train to Williamsburg.
After arriving, we walked directly to one of Martha’s Bakery’s locations, then headed towards the other one along Bedford Ave. Since we didn’t want to indulge in sweets right away, we opted to dine at Clinton Hall, a gourmet burger joint in the area.
Afterwards, we headed back to Martha’s Bakery and then some of us enjoyed some coffee and sweets. We then walked back to the G/L station over at Metropolitan Ave. and were lucky that the rain had stopped by that time.
Museum of the City of New York 05/10/2019 May 13, 2019
NYEA students and our Level 3 teacher David left the school shortly after noon and made their way uptown to the Upper East Side. After arriving at the 103rd station with the 6 train,
we walked a few blocks away via Central Park.
Once inside the museum, we checked out some NYC artifacts on the first floor and then headed to the basement to watch TImescapes,
a documentary of the stages of NYC’s history. Afterwards, we went to the third floor to see an exhibition of bicycles throughout NYC
history. They even had Citi Bikes to try out with a motion-detector screen.
After taking a few more photos, we decided to walk to nearby 86th St. and ate at Shake Shack.
Rosie’s Mexican Restaurant 05/03/2019 May 7, 2019
The group of students from level 1, 2,4 and 5 and our Level 3 teacher David left school shortly after noon and made their way to the subway, eventually arriving at the 2nd Ave station on the F line. Just two blocks away from the subway on the corner along 2nd Ave sits the well decorated Rosie’s Mexican Restaurant.
Once inside, we made ourselves comfortable and ordered some nacho chips with guacamole and two different types of sauces, including any drinks we were interested in. Afterwards, we ordered some delicious food, such as tortas (Mexican-style sandwiches), enchiladas and tacos (corn tortillas with fillings).
The food, the drinks, the environment, the conversations we had all made this experience a pleasurable and memorable one.
